The West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) is hiring a Transportation Engineer Associate Senior to serve as a staff engineer within the Cement and Concrete Section of the Materials.. Control.. Soils.. And Testing Division in Kanawha County.
This position focuses on quality assurance of cement, concrete, and ready-mix operations, including oversight of associated laboratories. As a lead worker, you will compose specifications and materials procedures, conduct literature reviews, and perform cement and concrete research.
You will also oversee the state Quality Assurance program for precast and prestressed concrete, assist with concrete mix design reviews, and approve concrete-related materials.
Qualification

Role Responsibilities
Serve as lead worker in the Cement and Concrete Section, overseeing quality assurance of cement, concrete, and ready-mix operations.
- Compose and update Specifications and Materials Procedures for cement and concrete.
- Conduct literature reviews and perform research related to cement and concrete materials.
- Oversee the state Quality Assurance program for precast and prestressed concrete.
- Assist with concrete mix design reviews and approve concrete-related materials.
- Perform district concrete laboratory inspections and write subsequent reports.
- Coordinate and teach Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) Inspector and Technician schools.
- Monitor practical exams for PCC certification programs.
- Make independent engineering decisions within the defined policy framework.
- Assist in setting broad objectives for the Cement and Concrete Section.
Conditions & Requirements
