Transportation Engineer Senior - Various Counties

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in West Virginia or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.
• Several years of progressive engineering experience, including supervisory or lead worker duties.
• Experience in highway or bridge engineering, planning, design, construction, or maintenance.
• Ability to make independent engineering decisions within a defined policy framework.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites across District 1 counties.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Serve as the District 1 Bridge Engineer for Kanawha, Putnam, Mason, Boone, and Clay counties.

• Perform advanced engineering work in planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of highways and structures.
• Make independent engineering decisions within the policy framework.
• Assist in setting broad objectives and goals for engineering projects.
• Supervise section activities and personnel in engineering and non-engineering areas.
• Visit project sites to make on-site engineering decisions.
• Train and evaluate personnel to ensure quality work.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate activities of subordinate personnel.
• Review ongoing work at major decision points.
• Perform related duties as required.
