The West Virginia Department of Transportation (WVDOT) is hiring a Transportation Engineering Technician Associate for the Mineral County District Construction Organization.

Qualification

  • Must be able to perform related duties as required.
Role Responsibilities

Conduct standard sampling and field-testing of construction materials.

  • Perform density tests on Portland Cement Concrete, bituminous mixtures, aggregates, quarries, and pits.
  • Conduct standard construction surveying, including instrument operation and staking.
  • Identify and stake right-of-way boundaries.
  • Reduce and check field book notes of standard surveys.
  • Determine, plot, and check standard cross sections.
  • Enforce traffic controls established during construction.
  • Participate in a training program requiring 180 Technician Development Hours.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Conditions & Requirements

Must be able to work in a field environment on highway and bridge construction sites.

  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
