Located 17 miles southeast of Los Angeles, Norwalk is the 14th most populous city in Los Angeles County with a population of 100,373 and an area of 9.71 square miles. The city is served by four freeways, Metrolink and Metro Green Line stations, and the Norwalk Transit System. Norwalk contracts for law enforcement with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and for fire, water, street sweeping, and trash disposal services. The city has 12 parks totaling 87.3 acres and is home to over 6,000 businesses.
