Job Description

Food Service Worker NA-01 is listed by Family and Morale, Welfare & Recreation (FMWR). This Food Service Worker position is part of the Family and Morale, Welfare & Recreation (FMWR) team at Fort Riley, Kansas.

You will perform routine manual tasks in a kitchen or dining area, including setting up serving lines, preparing fruits and vegetables, operating dishwashers, and cleaning tables, counters, and floors. The role supports Soldier and unit readiness by providing quality food services.

It is an intermittent (flex) position, meaning hours vary from 0 to 39 per week, and is ideal for those seeking flexible, part-time work in a military community environment.

Salary & Compensation

Salary: $17.19 - $20.05 per hour.

Qualification

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up glasses, silverware, dishes, trays, napkins, condiments, and cold menu items on serving line or tables.
  • Remove dishes and trays from tables after meals.
  • Wash tables and counters.
  • Sort, wash, peel, and cut fresh fruit and vegetables.
  • Operate, break down, and clean food preparation equipment.
  • Load and operate dishwashers.
  • Store cleaned dishes, glasses, and silverware.
  • Vacuum and shampoo carpets; sweep and mop kitchen floors.
  • Clean windows and wash walls.
  • Clean and sanitize trashcans; dispose of trash.

Conditions & Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements.
  • Satisfactorily complete employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to Tier 1 background investigation per AR 215-3.
  • Willing to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 20 pounds.
