Job Description

The Food Service Worker handles various responsibilities in the quick-service carryout domain and supports additional food services at NAS Oceana in Virginia Beach, VA. Operate in this role covers preparing hot items, sandwiches, salads, and beverages according to computerized recipes, requisitioning supplies, packaging food, and complying with HACCP procedures.

This role also involves running cash registers, counting cash, and maintaining a clean function area.

Qualification

To qualify for the NA-4 grade, you must display knowledge of basic food preparation, safety, cash collection, sanitation, and buyer solution. The aptitude to abide by recipes, measure ingredients, and run a cash register is crucial.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Requisition needed food and non-food items from Subsistence/Supply Section.
  • Arrange foods based on forecasted demand or established standards.
  • Package food in person containers and store properly.
  • Comply with HACCP procedures such as documentation of food temperatures.
  • Work cash registers, adjust printer paper, and count/verify cash.
  • Reveal professionalism through user offering and teamwork.
  • Account for leftovers and finalize cook worksheets.
  • Stock, organize, fix up, tidy, and uphold operate area before, during, and after hours.
