Job Description
This Food Service Worker position supports the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department at Naval Base Kitsap Bremerton, part of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC).
The role focuses on preparing and serving food in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment for service members, their families, and civilian employees.
The job involves making pizzas from prepared ingredients, assembling sandwiches like Italian sausage and meatball subs, and grilling items such as hamburgers and hot dogs.
Qualification
To qualify for this NA 2-3 grade position, you must have or be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate. You need the ability to use simple kitchen equipment and common utensils, operate bake and holding ovens and pizza makers, and follow recipes for pizza, salads, and other menu items.

Role Responsibilities
Prepare and bake a variety of pizzas from prepared ingredients, selecting correct amounts and arranging ingredients.
- Prepare sandwiches including Italian sausage, meatball, and submarine sandwiches.
- Grill hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, french fries, etc., monitoring cooking and regulating temperature.
- Package prepared food for off-premise consumption or serve for on-premise consumption.
- Operate and use bake and holding ovens, pizza makers, slicers, fryers, and miscellaneous kitchen utensils.
- Ring up sales on a cash register and make change.
- Count and turn in change funds and daily receipts.
- Maintain concept environment, equipment, utensils, and surfaces in a sanitary, clean, and neat condition.
- Scrape and pre-rinse dishes, glasses, and flatware for washing; separate food waste and trash.
- Load dishes into dishwasher; hand wash dishes; stack and store clean dishes.
Conditions & Requirements
Must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Selectee may be required to complete a one-year probationary period.
