The 31st Force Support Squadron is hiring a Food Service Worker Leader for Deja Brew (Area 1) at Aviano Air Base, Italy.

In this role, you will lead a team of food service workers during shifts, providing work direction, on-the-job training, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualification

This position is open to US citizens and NATO country citizens with a valid US permanent resident card and Social Security Number, who are on orders at Aviano AB. Italian citizens are not eligible for US NAF positions.

  • Must be able to follow cash handling procedures.
  • Knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food and beverages, and for cleaning equipment and work areas.
  • Education cannot be substituted for experience.
Role Responsibilities

Provides work direction to subordinates and demonstrates proper work methods.

  • Oversees all assigned employees during shift and works alongside them to set the pace.
  • Provides on-the-job training to team members.
  • Prepares a variety of hot beverages such as cappuccinos, brewed coffee, lattes, espresso, and hot chocolate by selecting proper ingredients.
  • Serves cold beverages and food items, including soda, juices, cookies, muffins, and pastries.
  • Receives payment, operates cash register, and makes change to patrons.
  • Assures patron satisfaction by resolving customer complaints and issues.
  • Sets up work area for operation and obtains cash bank.
  • Maintains work area in a neat and clean manner; sets up and cleans tables and replenishes condiments.
  • Performs preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment, including coffee machines, ceilings, under and behind equipment, and refrigeration units.
Conditions & Requirements

Must complete a background investigation with favorable results.

  • Requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special occasions.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical.
  • Must provide a current record of immunizations.
  • Must be a US citizen or NATO country citizen with a valid US permanent resident card and Social Security Number.
  • Probationary period may be required.
  • Selection is subject to hiring preferences and priority consideration eligibilities.
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized; LQA is not authorized.
