Job Description
The Recreation Aid at the Auto Hobby Shop, Spangdahlem AB, Germany, schedules maintenance appointments, takes reservations, processes payments, generates invoices, researches and orders parts, and checks safety systems.
This flexible position (0-40 hours per week) requires standing, walking, stooping, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Monday through Friday with possible evening and weekend shifts. The role supports Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) activities for the Air Force and Space Force.
Ideal for those with customer service and computer experience who enjoy hands-on automotive support.
Qualification
Open to everyone. Applicants must be US citizens or legal US residents (including NATO country citizens other than Germany). Experience with computers, customer service, and cash register operation is required; automotive knowledge is desirable.

Role Responsibilities
Schedule maintenance and repair appointments.
- Take reservations and receive payments.
- Generate customer invoices.
- Research and order parts.
- Check the established safety system of facilities, areas, tools, and equipment.
- Answer inquiries about scheduled activities and events.
- Take inventory of automotive supplies and equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Conditions & Requirements
Must complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- May be required to work shifts including evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
- Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Requires continuous standing, walking, and stooping.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must register for Selective Service.
- All federal NAF employees must have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit.
- Probationary period may be required.
- Selection subject to hiring preferences and priority consideration eligibilities.
- Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized.
