GENERAL ENGINEER

To qualify for this General Engineer position at the DP-5 level.. You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or DP-04 pay band in federal service.. Or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. You must also meet the basic education requirements for professional engineering positions.

• Specialized experience must include
• Serving as a Lead Systems Engineer or Lead Technical Domain Subject Matter Expert providing authoritative systems engineering input and advice to program management leadership.
• Leading the development and incorporation of Systems Engineering work products to satisfy System Acquisition program management process milestones, strategic planning, risk characterization, and decision making on major weapon systems.
• Leading or mastering the use of broad resources to support engineering development, planning, and testing for assigned systems.
• Leading engineering, technical, acquisition, and sustainment support personnel and teams.
• Education: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program, or a degree that includes differential and integral calculus and courses in five of seven specified engineering science areas.
• Alternative education paths: Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or Professional Engineer (PE); or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam; or completing 60 semester hours in physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field with at least one year of professional engineering experience under supervision.
• Experience can be paid or unpaid, including volunteer work through National Service programs.
• Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.

• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Facilitate engineering discussions and identify technical solutions by applying engineering theories, concepts, principles, and processes.

• Coordinate problem-solving efforts and de-conflict competing objectives, variables, and constraints.
• Document solutions in relation to cost, schedule, and technical (performance) constraints.
• Develop and review technical documentation including Statements of Work, Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists, presentation materials, formal memos, and general correspondence.
• Communicate with stakeholders across industry and other Program Offices as required.
• Coordinate and document Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) events.
• Participate in Program Management Reviews, technical reviews, and technical interchange/coordination meetings.
• Provide management and oversight of all engineering technical disciplines for assigned H-53 platforms.
• Lead major modernization and sustainment initiatives for the Navy MH-53E, Marine Corps CH-53E, and Marine Corps CH-53K.

Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
