Job Description
The Information Technology Specialist (Network) role is located within the Info Management Division (IMD) at Naval Hospital Jacksonville (NHJAX) in Jacksonville, Florida.
This role centers on executing procedures to optimize network performance, carrying out remote installation schemes, analyzing equipment reliability, and managing network servers and figures communication devices. The individual in this role will document configuration adjusts, employ remote management tools, and evaluate network devices.
Core hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM in a usual office setting with some walking and standing. This is a Direct Take on Authority (DHA) solicitation for the Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) and Key Span and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB).

Salary & Compensation
Salary: $75,278 - $97,867 per year.
Qualification
To qualify for this GS-11 Information Technology Specialist (Network) post, you must be a US citizen and meet one of the following: one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09, a Ph.D. Or equivalent doctoral degree, or a combination of graduate education and expertise.
- One year of specialized know-how equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in Federal offering, including working with network operations to evaluate or remedy systems administration or compliance problems, and developing modifications to system parts requiring significant revisions in logic or techniques.
- Specialized background must reveal competencies in Attention to Aspect, User Solution, Oral Communication, and Obstacle Solving.
- Education substitution: A Ph.D. Or equivalent doctoral degree, or three packed years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. In computer science, information science, details systems management, mathematics, statistics, operations research, engineering, or technology management, with at least 24 semester hours in development or adaptation of submissions, systems, or networks.
- Combination of graduate education and expertise as described above.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is preferred.
- Foreign education must be evaluated by a private body specializing in interpretation of foreign education programs and deemed equivalent to U.S. Accredited education.
- Know-how may contain paid and unpaid work, such as volunteer service through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps).

Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute procedures and arrange corrective action to optimize network performance.
- Carry out blueprints and procedures for remote installation of submissions and upgrades using state-of-the-art software distribution ways.
- Analyze equipment and software reliability and use reports to spot problem spheres and form end-to-end systems performance levels.
- Apply benchmarks and performance measurement information to run network servers and records communication devices for normal and surge workloads.
- Document and track modifies to configuration, protocol, and visitor/system files.
- Employ remote management software tools to keep up and update configuration, protocol, and member/system files.
- Evaluate the performance of network devices such as servers, workstations, peripheral devices, and remote access systems.
- Organize the development and execution of configuration management schemes for involved LANs and WANs.
