Information Technology Specialist

To qualify for this GS-14 Information Technology Specialist position, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal solution. Federal experience isn’t required; expertise may be gained in the public, confidential, or volunteer sectors. You must also show nine IT competencies.

• One year of specialized background at the GS-13 level or equivalent, covering leading or coordinating IT projects, submission efforts, or system activities affecting multiple visitors or company procedures.
• Registering IT principles, concepts, and practices to evaluate needs, resolve technical issues, handbook system testing and configuration, and ensure cybersecurity and regulatory compliance.
• Engaging buyers, stakeholders, and technical teams to define conditions, communicate technical impacts, and deliver safe, consistent IT remedies.
• Evaluating system performance, availability, security controls, and operational effectiveness; spotting risks and leading corrective actions.
• Conducting vulnerability assessments, remediation, and security hardening for Linux, Windows, and Active Directory environments.
• Supporting Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A/A&A) activities and developing System Security Schemes (SSPs) and POA&Ms.
• Implementing security monitoring, audit logging, incident response, and continuous monitoring strategies.
• Supporting Zero Trust initiatives, endpoint security, and identity-centric security architectures.
• Leading a staff of IT professionals, assigning function, providing technical oversight, and securing operational objectives are met.
• Spotting and resolving operational and cybersecurity matters to make sure system availability, reliability, and security.

Lead the execution of security programs to anticipate, assess, and minimize system vulnerabilities across Tier I, II, and III platforms.

• Arrange security scheme rollout and form vulnerability reporting criteria.
• Assess proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security threats and recommend mitigation or countermeasures.
• Resolve integration problems related to carrying out new systems within present infrastructure.
• Assess new system design methodologies to boost software standard and accurately represent customer needs.
• Measure software development risk and present recommendations for adopting new methodologies to senior management.
• Lead execution of approved methodologies.
• Investigate, evaluate, and pick utilities and approaches for improving productivity and software quality.
• Lead a group of IT professionals responsible for enterprise infrastructure operations, such as assigning and reviewing work.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve operational and cybersecurity concerns affecting enterprise infrastructure environments.
