You will serve as a Lead Regional Emergency Response Dispatcher (OA) in the Emergency Management Department of COMMANDER NAVY REGION HAWAII at Pearl Harbor, HI. In this role.. You will lead three or more dispatchers..
Determine the appropriate response agency based on the nature of the emergency.. Verify caller location and severity using EMD checklists.. And track unit locations and alarm testing. This position requires rotating shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays.
It is designated Mission Essential and Key/Emergency-Essential, meaning you must ensure continuity of operations during crises.
Qualification
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent in the private/public sector. Specialized experience must include processing emergency/non-emergency calls, dispatching fire/ambulance/police units, and operating 9-1-1 systems including CAD and radio dispatch equipment.

- Experience processing and recording data for incoming emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Experience dispatching appropriate fire, ambulance, and police units.
- Knowledge and experience operating 9-1-1 systems including Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD), radio dispatch equipment, recording devices, and multi-function telephones.
- Strong foundation in emergency dispatching with critical decision-making, effective communication, and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
- Must successfully complete the RDC Training Program within 8 months of reporting aboard.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in direct deposit pay program.
Role Responsibilities
Lead three or more Emergency Response Dispatchers in daily functions, reporting to the RDC Supervisor.
- Determine the response agency and services based on established guidelines and the nature of the emergency.
- Verify caller location and call back number, and determine severity using the EMD checklist.
- Use computer databases to access secure areas, recall logged events, and track special operations.
- Track location of assigned units, alarm testing in progress, and status of emergency responses.
- Operate 9-1-1 systems, CAD, radio dispatch equipment, recording devices, and multi-function telephones.
- Process and record data for incoming emergency and non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch appropriate fire, ambulance, and police units as needed.
