Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor (Pharmacist)

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and hold a full, current, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, or the District of Columbia. Education requires graduation from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy program (BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D.). Foreign graduates need FPGEC certification.

• Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
• Graduates of foreign pharmacy programs must provide proof of Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Commission (FPGEC) Certification, including passing the FPGEE and TOEFL iBT.
• Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (e.g., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
• Must maintain current registration if required for licensure.
• At least 1 year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12).
• GS-12 experience or completion of an ACPE-accredited Pharm.D. program.
• GS-13 Pharmacy Supervisor: must demonstrate KSAs including ability to supervise subordinate staff, communicate orally and in writing to persuade and influence decisions, expert understanding of regulatory and quality standards, and skill in managing people or programs.
• Preferred experience: outpatient pharmacy experience and supervisory experience.
• Applicants pending completion of educational or licensure requirements may be referred but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.

Supervise the professional and administrative management of Outpatient and Community Care Network pharmacy areas, including budgetary execution.

• Supervise multiple pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians.
• Develop performance standards and ensure compliance with all regulatory and accrediting body requirements.
• Design and implement orientation and training programs for staff.
• Develop and maintain systems to monitor staff performance.
• Maintain, monitor, and correct workflow problems within assigned areas.
• Assist in preparation for national, local, and special accreditations (Joint Commission, Inspector General, Controlled Substance Inspections, DEA).
• Process all orders within areas of responsibility, including non-formulary medication orders.
• Coordinate with centralized pharmacy areas.
• Develop policies and procedures relative to the assigned area.
