Qualification

To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. This experience must include managing information capture, access, and dissemination processes; developing management strategies for Joint Staff Read Ahead and Enterprise Collaboration Support services; and acting as a senior liaison to senior leaders. Education cannot be substituted for experience at this grade level.

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service.
  • Experience managing the processes of information capture (ensuring the Joint Staff delivers the information required by the Top 4, adhering to established standards), access (ensuring necessary personnel can access the information), and dissemination (ensuring the information is properly packaged for the Top 4 and others).
  • Identifying and defining management strategies and milestones related to the integration and sustainment of Joint Staff Read Ahead and Enterprise Collaboration Support services, including developing policies, programs, and projects.
  • Integrating read ahead and collaborative support activities across Joint Staff.
  • Assessing proposed policy actions for potential impacts/risks to current and future operations.
  • Acting as senior liaison delivering status updates and staff briefings to Senior Leaders, maintaining effective working relationships with Joint Staff internal, the Military Services, and OSD principal staff elements and other Federal agencies and departments.
  • Reporting budget data as requested.
  • Establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures, guidance, and training documentation for the use of JS collaboration tools.
  • Responsible for communication/coordination for collaboration tools governance through a cross-functional change control board.
  • Assisting with drafting charter supporting governance/change control board initiation.
Role Responsibilities

Serve as Division Chief of the Executive Strategy Support Division.

  • Oversee the work of multiple subordinate branches with Joint Staff functions.
  • Act as primary advocate and advisor to Joint Staff leadership on executive information.
  • Manage and ensure Chairman's read-ahead packages are in accordance with Joint Staff requirements.
  • Analyze work section operations and procedures to identify improvements and efficiencies.
  • Manage training programs to support and accelerate Joint Staff use and integration of assigned collaboration, messaging, and content management tools/services.
  • Make independent judgments and decisions for improving operations and recommendations for improved utilization of division resources.
  • Integrate read ahead and collaborative support activities across Joint Staff.
  • Assess proposed policy actions for potential impacts/risks to current and future operations.
  • Act as senior liaison delivering status updates and staff briefings to Senior Leaders.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

  • Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Work may require local and international travel via military or commercial aircraft.
  • This is a drug testing designated position; initial drug screening and random testing thereafter.
  • Temporary appointment not to exceed 12 months with the option to extend.

This is a temporary appointment not to exceed 12 months, with the option to extend.
