Job Description

The Food Service Worker position at Ellsworth Community Services Flight, section of the Air Force Global Strike Command, backs the Bandit Lanes on Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota.

This is a Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) role with a flexible, intermittent work schedule—no minimum guaranteed hours, but you may operate up to 40 hours per week. The role is permanent and doesn’t present telework or remote perform.

As a Food Service Workeryou’ll place up cafeteria lines and dining room tables with hot and cool food items, assist food cafeteria look, and replenish items as needed.

You’ll also break down and clean the sphere after meals, work dishwashers, and perform heavy-duty cleaning jobs such as scrubbing pots and pans, washing floors and walls, and cleaning walk-in refrigerators and freezers.

Additional function in this role covers assembling salads, making chilly sandwiches, and getting ready beverages like coffee and tea. You may also unload food from delivery trucks and gather trash. This role is ideal for people who can track plain oral instructions, employ hand tools for cleaning, and operate basic machines.

Salary & Compensation

Salary: $18.04 - $21.05 per hour.

• Experience in receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, or other processing of cash items such as direct handling and use of cash accountability control techniques (if applicable).
• Must be physically fit to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Must be capable to continuously stand and walk, and frequently stoop, arrive at, shove, draw, and bend for extended periods.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Fix up cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cool food items including meats, vegetables, salads, desserts, bread, butter, and beverages.
• Cater to food cafeteria manner.
• Break down and clean domain when meals are wrap up.
• Place up dining room tables for service, place food and beverages on tables, and replenish items when needed.
• Fix up and run dishwashers; perform preventive maintenance and cleaning.
• Scrape, soak, scour, and scrub bowls, pots, and pans.
• Perform heavy-duty cleaning tasks such as ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment; wash floors and walls, walk-in refrigerators and freezers; sanitize garbage cans.
• May unload food from delivery trucks.
• Round up and transfer trash from operate sphere to disposal area.
• Assemble and toss fresh fruit or green salads in quantity using ready dressings; serve into normal serving sizes.

Conditions & Requirements

• Must finish a background investigation with favorable findings.
• Male candidates born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
