To qualify for the Grounds Maintenance Laborer role at KANEOHE BAY MCCS, you must have a legitimate driver's license and the capacity to safely run public sector vehicles such as a box truck or cargo van. You require insight and ability to run lawnmowers, weedwhackers, and employ hand tools like hatchets and saws. This role requires following basic oral and written instructions and working safely whereas moving light to hefty objects.

• Understanding and competence sufficient to run lawnmowers/weedwhackers and use hand buffers, hatchets, saws, hand and other utilities requiring the same level of expertise and expertise.
• Insight and ability sufficient to go through signs, and abide by plain oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform safely though moving light to heavy weight objects.
• Functions with particular oral and written instructions.
• Demonstrated aptitude to use continual care due to the nature of resources and equipment applied, and the weight of objects handled.
• After receipt of instructions, may finalize responsibilities involving several distinct duties or phases independently (e.g., washing and waxing a car, unloading supplies, moving them to specified locations and stacking them).
• Exerts moderately weighty physical attempt: occasionally lifting and carrying hefty objects; frequently lifting and carrying moderately heavy objects; frequently pushing weighty furniture, loaded carts, etc.
• Lifts and carries objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.

Loads/unloads/moves hefty boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from trucks, dollies, etc.

• Stacks boxes and cartons as directed.
• Using a shovel, digs ditches where grading and sloping isn’t needed.
• Fills holes with dirt and levels bumps and reduced places using shovel, hand tamper, and rake.
• Runs hand and powered (walking category) lawnmowers or weedwhackers, which don’t call for very weighty physical work.
• Clears minor trees and bushes using hatchet, handsaw, or clipper.
• Moves and arranges furniture/appliances as directed.
• May shovel sand or dirt from sidewalks.
• Collects and empties garbage cans, picks up trash in public domains.
• Washes and waxes cars and trucks by hand or using powered buffer.

Must be a U.S. Citizen, national, or individual who owes allegiance to the U.S.

• Capacity to lift and transport objects up to 45 lbs independently and over 45 lbs with assistance.
• Function may be performed outdoors in bad weather, involving exposure to extreme temperatures. Indoor operate may involve drafts, noise, dust, dirt, and standing on concrete floors for long periods.
