The Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) Southeast District is seeking a registered nurse to give school health offerings at Scott Middle School in Fort Knox, Kentucky. This role is central to supporting student well-being and academic readiness by managing health requires during school hours.
As the school nurseyou’ll hand over classroom instruction on health topics, offer individual student health education and counseling, and respond to illnesses or injuries that occur during the school day.
You’ll keep up exact health records and collaborate with teachers and workforce to interpret and aid each student's health status. This role is temporary, not to exceed one year, and may be terminated earlier based on enrollment.

Salary & Compensation
Salary: $38.86 - $57.05 per hour.
Qualification
To qualify for this Nurse post, you must be a U.S. Citizen and encounter the education and licensure needs. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a current, unrestricted RN license are mandatory.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Winning completion of the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
- Current, active, complete, and unrestricted license or registration as a skilled nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory.
- License must be verifiable through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) nurse licensure and disciplinary database.
- License must be maintained throughout employment with DoWEA.
- A Bachelor's degree in a scheme other than nursing is acceptable only if you possess a present, active, packed, and unrestricted RN license.
- Nurses from Puerto Rico must show proof of passing the NCLEX.
- Foreign degrees must be evaluated by a NACES participant or equivalent.
- Know-how includes paid and unpaid work, such as volunteer solution through National Offering programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps).
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supply classroom instruction and person student health education and counseling.
- Give emergency care for illness or injury occurring during school hours according to usual first aid guidelines.
- Uphold health info and documents for students.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school personnel to interpret pupil health status.
- Participate in the establishment, management, and evaluation of a finish school health plan.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned to back student health and safety.
Conditions & Requirements
- Male candidates born after December 31, 1959 must wrap up a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Solution Condition.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship called for.
- Straight deposit of cover is required.
- Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
- This role needs a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Reviews due to interaction with children under 18.
- This is a Testing Designated position subject to candidate testing and random drug testing.
- You’ll be needed to sign a DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing.

- This is a time-limited position and may be extended in one-year increments.
