Job Description

The 75th Force Support Squadron's Bowling Center at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, is looking for a Recreation Aid to help run recreational activities and events.

In this role, you will set up areas for scheduled activities, record attendance, take reservations and payments for trips and tours, and notify participants of schedule changes.

You will also arrange for equipment or tools, check them out to participants, and inspect them upon return.

Qualification

This position is open to everyone. Applicants will be categorized by preference or priority consideration eligibilities, such as Military Spouse Preference, Outside Applicant Veteran, and Spouse/Widow/Parent of Veteran.

  • Open to all U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.
  • Must provide proof of claimed eligibility (e.g., Military Spouse Preference, Veteran status) by the closing date.
  • Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, and procedures is required.
  • Ability to safeguard and handle cash is required.
  • Skill in the use and maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities is desirable but not required.
  • No specific education substitution is allowed; experience is the primary qualification.
  • Foreign education may be accepted if deemed equivalent to U.S. education; proof must be provided.
  • Experience can be paid or unpaid, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps).
  • Resume must clearly describe relevant experience.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
Role Responsibilities

Set up recreation areas for scheduled activities.

  • Record attendance and take reservations and payments for trips and tours.
  • Notify participants of schedule changes.
  • Arrange for equipment or tools, charge them out to participants, and check them for condition on return.
  • Decorate community or neighborhood centers for special events, activities, or parties.
  • String tennis or volleyball nets; line base lines and base paths; set up batting cages.
  • Check the established safety system of indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, tools, and equipment.
  • Post announcements of scheduled activities and answer inquiries about items, place, transportation, or other matters.
  • Take inventory of authorized recreation supplies and equipment.
  • Help with group activities that require more than one staff monitor, performing specifically assigned tasks.
Conditions & Requirements

Must complete a background investigation with favorable results.

  • U.S. Citizenship or Non-U.S. National status with three consecutive years of U.S. residency immediately preceding Federal affiliation.
  • Direct deposit is required.
  • Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • A probationary period may be required.
  • Pre-employment requirements must be met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD).
  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized.
  • Must be able to provide a REAL ID or authorized identity documents for installation access.
  • This position is not included in a bargaining unit.
